As we head into fall 2022, the real estate market in South Carolina is expected to remain strong. Interest rates are still low, and there is a growing number of homes available for sale. However, home prices are rising, so buyers who have been on the fence may want to consider making a move sooner rather than later.
Here are my four market predictions for fall real estate in South Carolina:
1. Interest rates will stabilize in the mid 5% range: this is one of the most important factors to watch, as it will impact both buyers and sellers. This rate is healthy and "normal" and will help stabilize our marketplace.
2. Home prices will continue to rise: This is good news for sellers, as it means that their home is likely to appreciate in value. But for buyers, know that this means that the home you like TODAY...will be more expensive tomorrow!
3. The number of homes available for sale will start to increase: This is good news for buyers who have felt that "there are no homes for sale!"
4. We will start to see "normal" contract terms - no crazy deposits required, normal closing time frames, repair requests considered, etc
What's the point? Our economy in The Upstate of South Carolina is healthy and strong! It's worth noting that NOT ALL MARKETS across the nation are experiencing the health and vitality we are experiencing.
Have you been thinking of moving to South Carolina? Consider the UPSTATE! What the cities or areas in the "Upstate?" Here are a few: Anderson, Clemson (Go Tigers!), Greenville (#yeahTHATgreenville), Lake Keowee, Lake Hartwell, Greer, and Taylors...to name a few!
